What Benidorm is all about.... sun and sand
Many now look to book their holidays to the sun, which Benidorm has by the bucket - and possibly some of you may be able to sneak in a cheeky weekend break too. Obviously the traditional June to September months are popular, especially if you have school age children. But if you are looking at other times of the year, there are some notable events going on in Benidorm which may be of interest.
Benidorm Carnival
March 19th : Burning of the Fallas. The biggest display is held in Valencia, but Benidorm also has some spectacular paper mache figures which are burnt on the evening of the 19th. They are erected around the town at the weekend (16th), allowing visitors to admire them before the ritual burning.

September 13th, 14th & 15th : Gay Pride, now in its 3rd year. Mainly concentrated in the Old Town with a massive parade on the Saturday night which will finish at the Town Hall Square, where the main stage will be situated.
November 9th - 13th : Benidorm fiesta.... on the last evening- the 13th, there is a traditional float parade through the Old Town and then a massive firework display on the beach.
British Fancy DRess Day 2012
Below is a link to a video made by TVCostas of last years Fancy Dress Day which has just been released today. If you were there see if you can spot yourself. If you haven´t yet been then this clip will certainly give you a taste of what to expect, and hopefully entice you to come and join in the fun. But if you are planning on coming then I suggest you get a move on, as hotels and flights get booked up pretty quickly
