Last night was the first of the two big Moors and Christians parades - and it was the turn of the Christians.
In a similar vein to last year the 50 Shades theme continued, with a dress code of thigh high leather boots and shiny steel!

It was a very warm and balmy evening which was just as well as many of the girls wouldn´t have been kept very warm from their costumes... and thinking about it, the boys weren´t exactly dressed for winter either! Oh they so like dressing up here...

The procession started a little after 8pm and it was well after 10.30pm before the last group made their way down the main route, to the continual clapping from the admiring spectators. Both sides of the street were lined with people, three deep, all vying for a good position to take photos from.

Understandably exhausted!
Once the procession had finished the participants all made their way to one of the local restaurants where tables had been laid out ready for dinner - yes they were tucking in whilst most of you were getting ready for bed! Afterwards there was a huge stage all set up for a rock concert of some sort, which probably wasn´t due to begin until well after midnight. There will probably be no sign of life before noon today....

The Moors parade takes place on Monday, starting at 8pm - in my opinion the costumes tend to be far more elaborate for this one looking back at previous years. I´ll be back for that one.... and hopefully my throbbing feet would have recovered by then!
