Benidorm Town Hall

Benidorm City Council in conjunction with the Tourism Foundation have launched a photo competition to celebrate World Tourism Day - which will be held on Friday 27th September.

The contest is being launched through the social network "Instagram" - which is an online photo sharing service. Technology is so fast moving these days... I have only just mastered how to text and in most cases it would probably be quicker to call as it takes me so long to write - I spell the entire word as I don´t know abbreviated text language and when I receive one it´s like code and takes me forever to try and decipher what it says (I normally have to ask my son)!

The theme for the competition is "Tourism and Water" and being on the beautiful Mediterranean coast I am sure that it will be a popular and well entered contest. If you would like to enter then you have to label your work with the hashtag key as follows  #dmtbenidorm13 and submit it on the instagram network. All entries have to be received by 24th September.

The winner will be chosen and announced on the 27th at the Town Hall on World Tourism Day after an official ceremony to celebrate the day. A selection of photographs will be on display there for you to go and view and there is a fabulous prize for the winner - a 2 night stay with half board in a 4 star hotel in the town (though there are restrictions when it can be used ie not during high season).

Instagram is a free app, I´m getting very technical now, which can be downloaded on any android smart phone or iPad (so my son tells me as obviously I didn´t know that) - so all you budding photographers get clicking and who knows, you may get lucky and bag yourself a fab prize!
