Cheers and Congratulations from Agustin and Gema

To mark the arrival of the new baby, His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge one Benidorm bar have created a special cocktail in his honour!

The "Red Lion Bar" on the junction of Calle Gerona and Calle Filipinas presented Benidorm Mayor Agustin Navarro and Deputy Mayor Gema Amor with a taste of the speciality today, named "Royal Baby"!

Cocktail ingredients - all very healthy!

It is a non alcoholic cocktail and contains Melon, Sandia (water melon), Banana, Pineapple, Grenadine and non alcoholic peach liqueur.  When it settles it does actually separate into red, white and blue and looks stunning.

The idea was the brainwave of the manager at the Red Lion, Alfie. He said that so many Brits come into the bar and there had been much excitement surrounding the anticipated birth prior to the arrival and great celebrations when it was announced. As tribute he set about experimenting to create a red, white and blue cocktail and came up with the "Royal Baby".

Formalities first...

The bar has really gone to town and had a huge poster printed with pictures of Kate and William on the steps of the hospital holding the new arrival and decorated the outside with massive Union Jack flags... they were certainly quick off the mark. The massive poster hung proudly directly below that of local legend Sticky Vicki!

The Mayor Agustin, Deputy Gema and members of the council as well as Yolanda, Director of the Benidorm  Tourist Board all arrived at 11.30am for a photo call and interviews with members of the press. They then got to taste the special cocktail and gave a short congratulatory speech on behalf of the town of Benidorm to the Royal couple.

The cocktail will be available free of charge to all customers of the Red Lion whilst stocks last and manager Alfie looks forward to welcoming all the Brits who are either on holiday here or residents in this fabulous place.... so hurry before it runs out!
