Younger cast members in rehearsals with Pascalle

If you enjoyed the film "Sister Act" starring Whoopi Goldberg then head to the Auditorium in La Nucia on 22nd and 23rd March where you can see the stage adaptation "Sister in Action" based on the original film, but with a twist.
I met up with Pascalle Bruens, Director and Choreographer of the production at the Streetwise Studios in Albir yesterday afternoon - well it was certainly a hive of activity!

The 60 plus International performers were in full and final stages of rehearsals - its amazing to watch 5 year old children seamlessly performing alongside adults old to enough to be their grandparents...

Pascalle has a great and experienced team helping her in the shape of Jo Hollingworth and Tjeerd Geerts - Assistant Directors; Gerrianne Douven - Vocal Coach and Marianne Van Hal - costume designer. Keeping that many under control is certainly a mammoth task and I was only there for a short time.

They have been practicing since the end of November, with a short break over Christmas. Every Saturday, between 11am and 3pm the two studios will be full of singers, dancers and actors going through their lines and numbers.

All in together - amazing how many will fit into a studio!

They will have 2 final full dress rehearsals at the Auditorium a few days before the show to check the costumes and sound.... a feat in itself considering that most of the children are at school until 5pm!

Tickets are 10 euros and available at either the box office or the Streetwise studios. The show, which starts at 8pm on both nights, lasts about 2 hours and will have a short interval half way through. Break a leg as they say in showbiz....
