Benidorm mayor Agustin Navarro and deputy Gema Amor
Benidorm held a press conference this morning to officially launch an information booklet called "Benidorm Works" (which today was only available in Spanish but an English copy is in the process of going to print)

The 64 page guide was entirely funded by the companies and services included within the guide, so no expense to the Town Hall - and all of them offer services and operate within the town of Benidorm.

New Benidorm Guide....
The Mayor, Agustin Navarro and his deputy Gema Amor thanked all the representatives for their continued hard work and commitment to Benidorm,  especially in these current economic times. He also expressed the councils appreciation for the months and in some circumstances years of patience when it came to settling outstanding debts to some of the companies.

They both also thanked the press for all the positive coverage and emphasized that Benidorm is open for business offering quality services to all the tourists which it serves year after year - a veiled reference to the negative publicity received from some of the British press during the summer perhaps!

At the back of the guide are useful contact numbers and addresses of the emergency services, hospitals, utility companies and tourist information offices that serve Benidorm.

Representatives within the new guide
Among those companies included within the booklet are "Rojuser" - the company which provides lifeguards and first aid points on the beaches, "Sice" the company which instals the cctv and traffic cameras, "Lorente Bus"which provides the towns public bus service and "Impursa" who provide most of the signage around the town centre.

There are some lovely colour photographs inside the publication so worth picking one up even in Spanish!
