Alison Hammond, Matt Johnson and Johnny Robinson were down on the Levante beach this morning pre-recording some footage for tomorrows live broadcast.

They were filmed doing what Benidorm is now most well known for ... mobility scooter racing on the promenade! The crowds gathered early on and were asked to participate by waving flags and cheering their favourite celeb on. Who won .... you will have to wait and watch tomorrows live broadcast where the winner will be announced.

Benidorm singing sensation Asa Elliott was there to start the race with a black & white chequered flag and then presented the gold winners medal to the victor - plus a bottle of Benidorms finest cava... which was sprayed in a similar fashion to the Formula 1 racing winners podium.

The assembled crowds waved flags, threw blown up beach balls into the path and even sprayed them with water pistols as the raced by... and all 3 ended up drenched. Just as well that the sun was out as it did looked rather grey first thing in the morning.

Alison, Matt and Johnny were besieged with fans wanting photos taken with them and whilst talking with Johnny one fan even handed his mobile over and asked if he would leave a voice mail on it! They chatted to the crowds and entertained them with stories of their previous nights partying!

They were great fun and got the crowds going, many of them couldn´t believe their eyes when they set eyes on them racing up and down on their mobility scooters.
The Spanish did a double take when they saw Johnny in his red sparkly sequined top and were left wondering what was going on - had he just fallen out of a nightclub dressed like that you could see them thinking.... its not the normal beach attire.

Tomorrow they will be broadcasting live from the "Solana Resort" aka Sol Pelicanos Hotel and special guests will be hotel manager Joyce Temple Savage - Sherrie Hewson and everyones favourite Latino barman/heart throb Mateo - Jake Canuso.  Make sure that you tune in between 10.30 and 12.30 UK time - 1 hour later here and you will catch some other familiar Benidorm faces.
