In the UK political correctness has gone mad and thanks to all the do-gooders there is NO justice system.  A drink driving footballer, who killed two young boys was let out of prison to attend his son's birthday party - he was sentenced to just over seven years and is due to be released this summer after serving just half of his sentence. Yet a looter that started a fire during the London riots was jailed for 11 years! Today's Mail reported that police swooped on a 3 year old's party at a local play centre after staff said that the candles were a health & safety risk!  Stories like these are a daily occurrence in UK papers.

Here in Spain political correctness fortunately hasn't reared its head ... yet. A case I heard about last week confirmed this. A National police officer was let off for shooting 3 men - they had been tailgating and driving dangerously for some distance. The off duty officer flashed his badge several times but the pair ignored him and eventually pushed his car off the road. When he got out he again identified himself as an officer and told them he had a loaded gun, which he would use if necessary. The pair then proceeded to beat the officer up whilst he repeatedly identified himself. He managed to pull out his gun and shoot the assailants - killing one and wounding two . Last week he was in court accused of intent to kill and the prosecution was demanding a long jail sentence. Fortunately the judge had sense and threw the case out, cleared the officer and told the prosecutor that he was lucky that he wasn't jailing "the victims"!
Wouldn't it be great if the judges stood their ground in the UK....
