Benidorm MoorsThe Benidorm Moors & Christians parade took place yesterday evening – giving the locals a chance to raid the dressing up box once again! It was a slightly haphazard start but eventually they got into their stride – with each group followed by a local band. But not all of the bands were from Benidorm – some came from as far afield as Parcent and Alicante.

Moors paradeThe Mayor Agustin Navarro and Deputy Gema Amor sat with the event organisers and the town fiesta Queens - which this year celebrated the 25th year of the fiesta taking place here. There were several floats carrying children who all waved enthusiastically to the crowds and some participants had baskets of sweets which they threw out to the cheering spectators, which lined the entire route. The procession finished about 10:30pm then they all went off to various bars and restaurants for a celebratory meal.

Benidorm Moors paradeThe next time Benidorm gets into party mode is for the town fiesta, which starts on Saturday 8th November and finishes with a spectacular firework display on Wednesday 12th November, which is lit from Poniente beach. A great place to watch it is from the Mirador - but be warned, it will be packed.

Then the following day, Thursday 13th November, it´s the day that most of the Brits looks forward to - The British Fancy Dress Day!
