Oh what a craic it has been here...with clear blue skies and temperatures in the 20´s, there was no stopping many taking to the streets of Benidorm today to celebrate St Patrick´s Day. Calle Gerona turned into a sea of green, including many of the shops, who had a roaring trade selling green wigs, t-shirts, tutu´s and hats.
Plenty of bars embraced the occasion, with bunting stung overhead, green, orange & white balloons, shamrocks and flags decorating their terraces whilst people also went to great lengths, wearing something green or quite afew went for full-on fancy-dress.
Even Sandra from Goggle Box was here - also dressed for the occasion and happily obliging fans with selfies – everyone just loves Benidorm when it´s in party mode. There was a great atmosphere all around and the bars was brimming to capacity, with everyone enjoying the mighty craic with plenty of live music on the go.
The drinks flowed – especially the Guinness, terraces quickly filled and by mid-afternoon it was difficult to find a spare seat, especially in the sun. What a great afternoon – and no doubt the partying will go on well into the early hours!
It´s been a double bonus here for the bars, with the Cheltenham races... yes there were plenty dressed in jockey silks and glorious sunshine all week, they´ll need to be putting in a good order to restock those beers for the weekend.
