“Top of the Day” as the Irish would say – and it certainly has been in Benidorm today. The sky was blue, the sun shone, music played and the drinks flowed, as parts of the Rincon de Loix turned into a mini Ireland to celebrate the Patron Saint of Ireland – St Patrick.
Calle Gerona turned into a sea of emerald green as everyone embraced the occasion, some going the whole hog and dressing up in fancy dress whilst others took to wearing something green.
Even the many Chinese/Indian shops took advantage, with displays of green t-shirts, hats, tutu´s and wigs at the front. The Guinness certainly flowed and the bars went to great lengths to decorate with bunting, flags and balloons – with many putting on live music throughout the entire afternoon.
St Patrick must have been looking down and smiling upon all the leprechauns and shamrocks running around the streets of Benidorm today – enjoying the mighty craic. A number were also spotted walking along the Levante beach...
