  • The clock is ticking down.... Benidorm series 7 is about to hit our screens tonight and social media networks are already going into overdrive! Since the cast and crew finished filming and packed up back in June, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release date of this latest series. Over the years they have featured a resident singer at the ficticious "Neptunes" nightclub – in series 6 it was Asa Elliott and before him Shaun Foster-Conley. For this series they have used a number of established and popular Benidorm acts – the first of which you will see in tonights first episode – The Stylistics! The suave and uber slick threesome are made up of Leroy Charlery, Kojo Adisi and Leroy Davis – otherwise known as Leroy Smokes.

  • The day started at 7am.... it was still dark outside! The extras for the day, aprox 20 were already gathered in the lobby of the Sol Pelicanos hotel. Tuesday is change-over day for the charter flight holiday companies, so the lobby was already buzzing with life. We were not alone. The minibus finally came and transported us to the studio set - the pink building almost opposite Benidorm Palace.

  • Actor Jake Canuso, otherwise known as Mateo in the ITV hit comedy "Benidorm" is probably the most recognised of all the cast in the series and constantly being mobbed by fans where ever he goes. But as he told me, it goes with the territory and he is very appreciative of the huge fan base he has built up thanks to the series - he has over 46,000 followers on twitter!

  • I had the honour and pleasure of meeting Sheila Reid this week - now most widely recognised as the razor tongued perma-tanned matriarch from the ITV hit comedy series "Benidorm". However, in real life you couldn´t get further from the truth - which is a great credit to her acting abilities. In the series Madge has a sharp northern accent, often spouting caustic remarks but Sheila is very softly and well spoken

  • The day has arrived…. the final episode of the ITV comedy Benidorm will be aired tonight following confirmation that the show will be axed by ITV bosses amid falling ratings. Rumours had been circulating since March, with many tabloids running those headlines, but writer Derren Litten had always been somewhat arrogant in replies on his twitter account to those asking that very question. There will be tears shed by many, either of sadness or joy because a bit like marmite – you either loved it or hated it. Speaking with British expats that live here, most fall into the latter category whereas generally speaking, those in the UK loved it. Perhaps they just love seeing glimpse of their favourite holiday destination, bringing back fond memories.

  • Following a one week break, filming has resumed at "The Pink House" - the set for the Solana hotel reception.  It is there that I met up with Francis Matthews, who is the producer of the current series of ITV's hit comedy "Benidorm". He is not to be mistaken  with "Hammer Studio's Revenge of Frankinstiens"  Francis Matthews - very confusing having two actors with the same name, but this one is far younger and better looking!

  • ITV's hit comedy series "Benidorm" is back in town currently filming its record 5th series. It now has a cult following and the crew have been in town recording since 29th August - planned finish date is 3rd December. If you are in town you have most probably seen the "Primoti" Vans (Spain's equivalent of Hertz) parked along the road either infront of the strange "Pink building" - just up from Benidorm Palace.

  • Benidorm marked Europe Day this morning with a formal ceremony at the meeting chamber in the Town Hall. A presentation of the “Distinction Europe” award was made to two well recognized names here – Costa Blanca News and the ITV Series “Benidorm” which have both made a major contribution to the resort.

  • With series 5 of ITV's hit comedy "Benidorm" about to come to an end, I was in the enviable position of meeting up with one of the newest and undeniably hottest cast members... Asa Elliott! He made his debut in last years Christmas Special appearing as himself and returning due to huge popular demand for the current fifth series. He is the only cast member to actually appear as himself...

  • The first ever "BeniCon" took place last weekend (November 18-20) a 3-day convention dedicated to fans of the ITV series ´Benidorm´ which saw more than 1,000 attend. Although the sitcom stopped airing back in 2018, it still has a huge fanbase, which was evident over the course of the weekend, with many fans flocking over from the UK to be part of the experience.

  • Filming began today of the hugely anticipated 6th series of the ITV hit comedy series "Benidorm". The cast have been arriving over the last week - and with the UK weather as it is, I bet they couldn´t have timed it better if they had tried. The sun is shining down and the sky is blue with not a cloud in sight - a good omen I think!

  • Yesterday the crew and cast were filming down at Morgans Tavern - which is the fictional "Neptunes Bar" in the hit comedy series. You couldn´t miss it really - the Primoti and generator vans are the main give away! Well that and the crowds that are gathered at the entrance, hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the cast as they make their way into the green "rest tent" in between takes.

  • The Benidorm series film crew were out on location this afternoon - and there was no mistaking where they were, due to the mass of people! They had taken over one of the bars on the Levante front and turned it into a beach bar.The first give away sign was the taped off side road and then the subsequent arrival of the Primoti vans and generator!

  • The time has nearly arrived for parts of the resort to be turned into a film set as Tiger Aspect are back in town for what is rumored to be the very last ever series of the ITV comedy series Benidorm. Some will be breathing a sigh of relief at that news but rather like marmite, you either love it or hate it. Series 9, which was filmed here last year will hit our screens on Wednesday March 1 – 9pm in UK and 10pm here in Spain. The usual suspects will be back including Jack Canuso – Mateo; Janine Duvitski – Jacqueline; Tony Maudsley – camp crimper Kenneth; Johnny Vegas, Elsie Kelly and Selina Griffith who make up the Maltby family; Danny Walters and side kick Nathan Bryon – Tiger and Joey and of course Sherrie Hewson, the harassed Solana manager Joyce Temple-Savage.

  • Once again Benidorm was buzzing with excitement as the resorts favourite hotel Manager, Joyce Temple Savage, aka the lovely actress Sherrie Hewson popped back. She came over for a few days this week, accompanied by an ITV film crew to do some recording. However, it was not for the ever-popular comedy series "Benidorm" which she is in, but for the "Lorraine" show, part of the breakfast program Good Morning Britain.

  • Following the success of last years Benidorm cast ‘Karaoke Night’ – writer and creator Derren Litten has organized a second fundraiser, which will take place this Saturday – July 2 at The UK Comedy Club.

Last year they managed to raise over €13,000 – not bad for a few hours of fun and as filming is in its final phase Derren asked cast members if they would once again take part. He was delighted that not one of them hesitated and they are giving up their end of shoot fancy dress party to take part… so hats off to them all.

Tickets will be available from 6pm tonight at the Presidente Hotel reception desk.

  • Are you a fan of the Benidorm series? You are not alone. The popular British sitcom ran for 10 series – first aired in March 2007 and the last on May 2nd, 2018 before being axed by ITV. It attracted millions of viewers and won a number of National Television Awards over the years in the comedy category. Now the news is out that the organiser of the popular 3 day Elvis Fest Peter Phillips has collaborated with Derren to bring you “BeniCon” – a 3 day fan convention starting the day after the November British fancy dress day – Friday 18 to Sunday 20 November 2022.

  • Derren Litten, writer and creator of the ITV sitcom series ‘Benidorm’ and now Benidorm Live, the touring show has announced that he is engaging in talks to discuss “Benidorm The Movie” with film producers, which will be a movie version of the Live Show. ITV executives axed the television show this year after falling ratings, with series 10 the last – the very first was aired back in 2007. There was certainly a mixed reaction for the show, which had a marmite effect – you either loved it or hated it. But it will be a welcome relief for fans of the show, who were left heartbroken when it was confirmed that there would be no more new series made in the popular resort. Only this week workmen and skips were outside what is affectionately referred to as ‘The Pink House’ - ripping out the props which made up the reception of the fictitious Solana.
