With this weeks live broadcast of Britain's Got Talent semi finals, it reminded me of the very funny Sports Relief BGT which the cast members of our much loved Benidorm series did earlier this year. And on that note, according to "The British Comedy Guide",Tiger Aspects the production company responsible for Benidorm have confirmed that they are indeed working on a 6th series of the ITV sitcom.

Benidorm creator and writter Derren Litten has in the meantime written a new comedy series called "The Spa" for Sky Living which bears not too an uncommon resemblance to the Benidorm series.  It stars Bafta winning comedian and actress Rebecca Front as an ambitious but misguided manageress, whose tactless approach and initiatives have a habit of plunging the spa into utter chaos - sounds a bit like Joyce Temple-Savage,the new manageress in series 5 of the Solana Resort.

Should be seeing these boys back in town for series 6
Litten has also written himself into this new show as a wheelchair bound fitness instructor - he must have had enough of Madges mobility scooter and the cast also includes Benidorm favourite Tim Healy aka Les/Lesley as a handyman.

It is obviously great news for the town that a 6th series is in the pipeline. Locals will be preparing for the announcement of auditions for the extras- usually held at the Melia hotel. During filming they even get the chance to mix and meet the cast. They are all great and down to earth and are only too happy to stop and chat to holidaymakers - even having photos taken with them. The pink house, Solana's reception will be busy again with Primoti hire vans parked outside - I did notice on passing by the other day that the reception desk is still there, never having been removed after the finish of series 5! Bets will now be on as to what celebs will be having cameo appearances in this series... So overall the extra jobs it creates is a positive aspect regardless of peoples opinions on the series.

I will have to let the cast know that if they want to practice for next years BGT they can always pop down to Levi's Showboat, where every Monday night they have a "Benidorm's got Talent" competition, with the chance of winning 100€.
