new hotelBenidorm has never been afraid to think big, and the newly transformed Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa is the latest example of the resort's continuing evolution. Following a major redevelopment and the addition of the striking new Sky Tower, the hotel has reopened with a fresh, contemporary look that places it firmly among the city's most impressive resort properties. The hotel reopened in 2016 but many will still remember the previous establishment, the Dalmatas… it´s certainly a complete 360 degree turnaround from those days!

Located a mere stone’s throw away from sandy Levante Beach in the popular Rincón de Loix district, the new 26-storey Sky Tower has become an eye-catching feature of the skyline, while extensive renovations throughout the property have created a brighter, more modern atmosphere.

The transformation is immediately noticeable on arrival. Public areas feel spacious and stylish, with a contemporary Mediterranean design that makes the most of natural light. Guest rooms have been upgraded throughout, many offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean coastline and the mountains beyond.

One of the standout features is The Iconic, the hotel's premium accommodation offering 20 rooms located between the 21st and 25th floors – the top floors of the new Sky tower. Guests staying here enjoy enhanced amenities, exclusive reception, free access to the SPA, Balinese beds with reserved areas plus some of the most impressive views available anywhere in the resort.

The hotel has also invested heavily in its leisure facilities. Refreshed swimming pools, attractive sunbathing areas and an upgraded spa provide plenty of opportunities to relax, while the hotel's rooftop terrace is likely to become one of Benidorm's must-visit spots. Perched high above the city, it offers breath-taking views across the coastline, particularly at sunset.

 Bar

Dining and entertainment have also been enhanced as part of the redevelopment, helping to create a more complete resort experience. Despite its size, the hotel manages to maintain a welcoming atmosphere, appealing to couples, families and travellers looking for a higher-quality stay close to the beach.

The elegant La Terrasse 19th floor rooftop cocktail bar is open to non-residents – obviously providing you purchase a drink. Wine is 4.50€ a glass and cocktails or mocktails start from 10€ - featuring all the classics such as Negroni, Mojitos, Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule. Although maybe slightly more than the average Benidorm bar the view and atmosphere is amazing so worth it for a treat.

What makes Port Benidorm particularly interesting is that it reflects the changing face of Benidorm itself. Long known for its high-rise skyline and lively atmosphere, the resort has increasingly focused on attracting visitors seeking modern facilities, quality accommodation and year-round appeal. This hotel fits perfectly into that vision.

 reception

While travellers looking for a small boutique property may find the scale of the hotel overwhelming, those who enjoy full-service resorts will find plenty to appreciate. The combination of excellent facilities, a prime location and outstanding views makes it one of the most notable hotel developments in Benidorm in recent years.

It may not be for the budget conscious, but as it is newly opened there are a number of offers if booking directly, so may be worth a look
