  • Last night (Saturday 5 October) the spectacular parade of the Moors and Christians too place in Benidorm. The event is celebrated in many Spanish towns and cities and commemorate the battles, combats and fights between Moors (or Muslims) and Christians during the period known as "Reconquista" - the time from the 8th century through to the 15th century. The festivals represent the capture of the city by the Moors and the subsequent Christian conquest.

  • Benidorm was one of many towns and cities across Spain that held a Three Kings parade yesterday evening (Wednesday 5) – with Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar the stars of the event. Setting off a little after 6pm from Parque de Elche (Dove Park) in the old town, numerous floats were interspersed with animated dance routines and bands.
