And the feel good factor continues as bookings for the month of July already stand at 83.3%, which is great news for the tourism sector here.
The Minister of Economy, Industry, Tourism & Employment - Maximum Buch met with HOSBEC president Antonio Mayor yesterday. An agreement was signed between the hoteliers association and the Valencian Agency for Tourism to co-market and specifically to promote Benidorm within the Costa Blanca, both nationally and internationally. In fact, Benidorm sand may be venturing further afield as the Mayor Agustin Navarro has sent letters to the Mayor of Madrid Ana Botella and also to the CEO of the Spanish Olympic Committee Alejandro Blanco, offering to supply the resorts beach sand if the 2020 bid is a success.
It will be used for beach volleyball and any other sports practiced on sand. Benidorm has always featured heavily for the people of Madrid as they treat it like their second home, flocking here during the month of August. Parking will be virtually impossible throughout the month as the Madrilenians - those from the city of Madrid, drive to Benidorm and leave their cars parked in the same spot for virtually their entire stay - and you can guarantee it will be one of the free white bays too!
