Following years of building and afew million euro's (629 to be precise) the new state of the art terminal has finally opened. You pass the old terminal 1 building and drive straight on - keeping to the right if you want departures / drop off zone. Unlike the old drop off zone this new terminal has numerous parking bays - but again it is only a drop off zone so don't leave your car for too long unattended.
You walk straight into the departures hall which is HUGE ! It is very light and airy and the check in desks are all nicely spaced out. This morning the only queues were for Easy Jet and Ryanair ! There is a cafeteria, News & Books shop and Burger King on the departures side.
If you are meeting someone then the arrivals hall is downstairs. There is both esculator and lifts to take you down from the upper arrivals floor. The greeting area is very spacious and plenty of seating is available nearby. There is also a Subway sandwich bar closeby.
On this lower floor you will also find all the car hire kiosks .... which totalled 9!
From the arrivals level there is an exit which will take you straight out to the taxi ranks. If its a bus or coach pick up then you need to go DOWN . If you have parked in the short term car park then you go up to the mezzanine floor - between arrivals and departures, or up to departures for the drop off zone.
The new terminal has been designed to handle 20 million passengers a year ..... hopefully alot of those coming to Benidorm !!!!
