Benidorm's annual Medieval Market is in full swing, transforming Dove Park (Parc d´Elx) at the start of the Ponient beach into a vibrant medieval village. While visiting the market, take the opportunity to explore the nearby Mal Pas Beach, a hidden gem nestled between the bustling Levante and Poniente beaches.
Mal Pas beach is overlooked by the Balcón del Mediterráneo, Benidorm's most famous viewpoint, which provides panoramic views and accessible via a staircase which in years gone by was adorned with love padlocks.
Running until Sunday evening, the market features numerous artisan stalls offering handmade goods such as jewellery, soaps, leather items, herbs, spices, and olives. Stallholders enhance the authentic atmosphere by dressing in period costumes.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of food options, including an open-air barbecue serving meats and sausages, as well as a giant paella. The market also offers live entertainment with performances scheduled throughout the weekend, including processions, demonstrations and music plus a special area for children with traditional games (no technology involved!)
Organized by the Independent Association of Merchants (AICO), the market aims to attract both tourists and local residents.
It will remain open until 11:00 PM on Saturday and until 10:00 PM on Sunday.
Don't miss this opportunity to experience a slice of medieval life, right in the heart of Benidorm - it´s not all about cheap beer and partying, there are plenty of alternative things to do and see!
