trio which make up sister actThere are numerous entertainment acts to go and see each evening, but one Benidorm favourite has thankfully been resurrected – “Sister Act – Are you ready for a miracle”. Originally started back in 2009, Charlene Devlin was in the original line up and is now joined by Joanne Crowle and Sian Payne to make up the all singing all dancing trio.

The show has been totally transformed, with a brand new fresh take on gospel. It is a very high energy production, which has been magnificently choreographed by Alison Eaves – one of the dancers at Levi´s Showboat. As anticipated they start in their habits but that soon gets whipped off to reveal something very un-nun like.

Morgan TavernThe 50 minute performance includes many of the hits from Sister Act 1 & 2 which starred Whoopi Goldberg and is most definitely a feel good family show suitable for all ages. Currently they perform at Morgans Tavern on Tuesday at 11pm, Wednesday at 10pm and Saturday at 11pm  and also at Showboat every Sunday and Tuesday at midnight - but check out their Facebook page “Sister Act, Are you ready for a miracle” as they are adding new venues weekly.

sister act posterThe girls are all regulars on the Benidorm entertainment circuit – Charlene and Jo already worked together, performing as “Saturday Night Boogie” which they have put on a back burner while they concentrate on their new project. But all three also have separate ventures – Charlene does a Cher and Karen Carpenter show; Jo performs as Dusty Springfield and is part of Stand & Deliver whilst Sian does Benidorm´s Jessie J tribute.
Jo, originally from Wigan has been in Benidorm for 6 years and came here having replied to a Facebook advert to join the Girls Aloud tribute act. Sian came here on holiday from Essex 3 years ago and loved it so much that she is still here and Charlene has been here for nearly 10 years, hailing from another well known holiday resort beginning with B – Bournmouth!
It is certainly a show worth taking the effort to see and will leave you buzzing and wanting more – exactly what Benidorm nightlife is all about
