The Benidorm Circus re-opened on Saturday night with its long awaited new show – "Bravissimo". You will find “The Big Top” behind Benidorm Palace, a well known landmark which can accommodate up to 850 people - and the opening night saw most of the seats full.
There was the tail end of a children’s birthday party going on in the annex area before entering the main arena, they do all the food so a great idea if you are looking for something different. The front row, head on to the stage was reserved for the party children, but otherwise you can sit where you like - obviously the earlier you arrive, the better.
The ringmaster, David Climent introduces the acts in both Spanish and English and the two hour show will keep both young and old transfixed for the entire duration. There is a short intermission half way through so you can stretch your legs and pop out to the bar to get a drink... or that traditional circus snack - popcorn!
The show is all based around traditional family entertainment and features clowns, acrobats, jugglers, dancers – and the requisite audience participation. Much to the children´s delight, fathers will be plucked onto the stage and asked to don peculiar accessories and do even stranger things - so have your cameras at the ready!
There are no live animals but you will see an animal act of sorts! An International mix of artistes take part and many of the dancers from the Palace are used, including the incredible strong men, assuring you of a top quality show. There is plenty of variety and something for everyone.
The venue is fully heated for the cooler Winter months and air-conditioned for the hot Summer months to ensure that you have a comfortable evening. There is ample free parking infront of the Big Top or the number 10 bus passes directly infront of the Palace. Tickets cost 16€ for adults and 8€ for children - at the current strong exchange that makes it under 12 & 6 GBP respectively.
